Reel Pay is an independent information site about PayID and online pokies payments in Australia. We are not a gambling operator, a bank, or a payment processor, and this policy covers only the data this website itself collects, not any transaction you make elsewhere.

The Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) it sets out, which govern how organisations collect, use, store and disclose personal information in Australia. Where this policy describes something Reel Pay does with data, it is written to reflect what the APPs require of a site our size, including being open about what we collect and why.

What we collect: server logs

Visiting this site generates standard server log data, the same kind almost every website records automatically: the page requested, the date and time, a truncated or hashed form of the visiting IP address where our hosting provider supports it, browser and device type, and the referring page. We do not ask visitors to create an account, and we do not collect names, dates of birth or financial details through this site, because it has no login, checkout or deposit function of any kind. Reading our guides on PayID deposits, withdrawals, legal status or responsible play does not require handing over any personal detail beyond what your browser sends automatically to any website you visit.

If you email us at [email protected], we collect whatever you include in that message, such as your email address and the content of your query, solely to respond to it. We do not add email addresses collected this way to a marketing list, and we do not sell, rent or otherwise share this information with any third party, including any gambling operator or payment business.

Cookies: functional only

This site uses functional cookies only, the kind needed for basic technical operation, such as remembering a cookie-notice dismissal or a display preference. We do not run advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not use cookies to build an advertising profile of visitors or to track them across other websites. Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies through their own settings if you would prefer not to accept even functional ones, though some page features may behave less smoothly as a result.

How long we keep data

Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security monitoring and basic technical diagnostics, after which they are deleted or further anonymised on a rolling basis. Emails sent to our contact address are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up, and are not retained indefinitely once a matter is resolved.

Your rights and how to make a complaint

Under the Privacy Act, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask reasonable questions about how it has been handled. Contact [email protected] for any of these requests and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information and are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the independent regulator for privacy matters in Australia, which can investigate complaints against organisations covered by the Privacy Act.

External links

Some pages on this site link to external organisations relevant to the topic being discussed, including the Australian Communications and Media Authority, BetStop, Gambling Help Online and Australian Payments Plus. Those organisations operate under their own separate privacy policies, and clicking through to any of them takes you outside Reel Pay's control; we encourage reading a site's own policy before providing any information there.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in Australian privacy law. The date at the top of this page, alongside the "dateModified" value in the page's structured data, reflects the version currently in effect, and continuing to use the site after an update means the current version applies to you.
